These are of course our first set of year 6 results, so we have no historical data to compare it with.

The children that the year 6 data applies to have left and successfully made the transition to secondary school, where they are doing well.  As with everything at Burhill, the data reflects only a very small part of the educational experience they had with us , and as a year group that saw many changes- in curriculum and organisation and cohort we are proud of them and how they managed their assessments.

All schools aim for improved results year on year, and we are no different. This data- which measures a narrow band of school experience- is something we aim to build on as the next few years progress.

Whilst we have much to celebrate in our achievements, we of course look to continue to improve and this year the school development plan, amongst other things includes:

  • Strengthening the teaching of maths across the school
  • Ensuring all children make significant progress from their starting points;
  •  Increasing our KS1 – KS2 progress scores, through the use of additional intervention teaching and comprehensive staff training across the school.
